Fighter Biography |
When and why did you start training for an MMA career? |
I started dedicating my training for MMA about 2 years ago when I decided to come to the US. I’m really good at my Jiu-Jitsu game, but I’d like to test my skills in the cage. All my friends always tell me that I would be a better MMA fighter than a Jiu-Jitsu fighter. |
Who are you currently training with and who is helping you prepare for this fight? |
I have my BJJ instructor Roberto Tussa, my wrestling coaches Don Ortega and Jason Tapia, and my Muay Thai coach Jason Cordova. All of my students help me a lot. |
Describe a typical training day when you are preparing for an upcoming contest? |
9AM I have my conditioning training; 11AM I have my MMA sparring session; 12PM I teach GI class and train with my students; 5PM is time to do some weight lifting; 630PM I teach GI class again; and 9PM I practice Muay Thai. |
How have you prepared for your opponent and his style of fighting? |
I don’t know anything about my opponent, but I am ready for whatever. |
What is your favorite technique? |
My favorite is the BARATOPLATA. It’s a crazy technique that I created. |
What do you hope to accomplish this year in your MMA career (i.e., where do you see yourself in one year)? |
I would like to fight for a belt from a big organization. I can see myself fighting with the best in the world. |
